Frank Sinatra

—Fly Me To The Moon

soundboard:

Fly Me To The Moon - Frank Sinatra

You just cannot beat Frank Sinatra. His voice is so smooth, strong and classic; absolutely timeless. Ever since I was a child I have loved and appreciated him as a musical legend, and I have a lot of personal attachment to this song; I remember singing it over and over in the car with my mum and I also sang it at my friend’s wedding reception for their first dance a couple of years ago. In the words of Zach, this would be part of my life’s soundtrack.

Happy birthday, Frank!

- Rosie

To be honest I can’t talk about Roxy Music without getting a little hot!

From the swoon worthy Brian Ferry to the fabulous music Roxy Music made a life style out of their music. If luxury had a soundtrack it would be all Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry!

They don’t call Avalon the “Baby making album” for nothing. Bryan Ferry as the creative director of all their covers and videos loves women and he show is in every cover. This is the woman everyone wants to be! Elegant, cool, sexy and totally in control!

Need less to say being a Roxy girl is the cool thing to be ;)

Here is my all time favorite Roxy Music song More Than This…

100 years of East London style in 100 seconds. Sept 13th 1911 - Sept 13th 2011.

I’ve always loved the 1950’s the women looked powerful and feminine. So I decided that for this New Years I will get inspiration from Sophia and Elizabeth and make a dress to fit the era.
Moon River is one of my favorite songs and has always allowed me to dream and feel in a magical place.

I’ll be styling a 1920’s inpire photo shoot soon. Here are some inspirations!

The 1920’s are my favorite era, I am so excited about this shoot!

I was listening to Paris by Friendly Fires and realized that damn that is the song I would like to dedicate to my close friends.

There always comes that time when you are so close to someone you just want to give them everything you have. I always thought about my family and how much I want to have enough money to give my parents everything they want! And after hearing this song (not for the first time) this morning I realized how much I would like to be able to make my friends dreams come true. There are 3 of them that have been there for me not matter what, I really hope that one day I can pay them back not just with support but give them something they always wanted or a great experience.

Would love to take my (straight male) best friend to Paris one day!

One day we’re gonna live in Paris
I promise
I’m on it
I’ll find you that French boy,
You’ll find me that French girl
I promise
I’m on it

How come you never go there?
How come I’m so alone there?
I went up to the window
Lighting banging on the cymbals
I ripped into the night
Came storm into your eyes

The horse had worked the fields too long
My bear has lost his innate calm
Its true enough we’re not at peace
But truth is never what it seems

My heart is not the light it was
And when I walk inside the dark I’m gone
So while we look for where it went
It’s only echos in the valley love

Why waste time on blame and weak revenge
Waste energy on projections
We’re living proof we gotta let go
And stop looking through the halo

We carry on as if the time is through
You carry on as if I don’t love you
And so we find the way is out
To cut the heart out of the doubt now

The room’s full but hearths are empty
Like the letters never sent me
Words are like a lasso
But you are an instrumental tune

How come you never go there?
How come I’m so alone there?

How come you never go there?

How come I’m so alone there?

I went up to the window

Lighting banging on the cymbals

I ripped into the night

Came storm into your eyes

The horse had worked the fields too long

My bear has lost his innate calm

Its true enough we’re not at peace

But truth is never what it seems

My heart is not the light it was

And when I walk inside the dark I’m gone

So while we look for where it went

It’s only echos in the valley love

Why waste time on blame and weak revenge

And stop looking through the halo

Dire Straits

—Sultans Of Swing

soundboard:

Dire Straits — Sultans of Swing

Listen to this song; hear the nice lyrics, notice the beautiful rythm, feel that awesome guitar. Go on. You’ll see that “You feel all right when you hear that music ring

I’m so grateful my parents showed me this amazing band when I was only a child. Today I show them to you, hope you like Dire Straits and their Sultans Of Swing.

— Viu.

You know when you like a song a lot but you can’t relate. Well I love Limit to Your Love since the first time I heard it. 5 years after I met a boy that has made me no just relate but live this song. The boy I love is far away, physically and emotionally. We talked about it many times, is a very confusing situation. He likes me, cares and wants me but he doesn’t want to be in a relationship…! Confusing might be a misunderstanding.

Is hard to cut someone of your life specially when they mean so much to you. So I am slowly learning to live with his inconsistency but also taking care of myself and not letting my feelings control me.

Hard Hard thing to do, I basically want to have my cake and eat it too so hopefully this works out. He really means lots to me (and yes something in me still has some hope..(please slap me))

Who knows….

I love I love I love

This dream of going upstream

I love I love I love

All the trouble that you give me

I know I know I know

That only I can save me

I’ll go I’ll go I’ll go

Out on the road

Because there is no limit

There’s no limit

No limit no limit no limit

Limit to my love”

I’ve been to London twice this year. I feel in love the second I arrived there, everything about London is perfection to me.
My plan is to move there by next Fall, find the perfect creative job in the fashion industry and the perfect musician boyfriend….easy no? Since I live in a popular cosmopolitan city in North America, have a job in the no so glam side of fashion and a ”special” commitment phobic english musician friend! So close to the dream I can taste it!…-_-!
So first steps first, to London!!
